I Dream a World

This poem was inspired by Langston Hughes’ I Dream a World.

I Dream a World

I dream a world where contentment

Usurps all pine and greed,

Desire for excess dissipates.

Simplicity starts at end of need

Equipping our earth to bloom again,

Resources, purity provided promotion.

Lack leaves with graspingness,

Love is the new ambition.

Sharing slays scarcity

Availing contentment to all,

Laws playing favoritism vanish.

Hatred, peril, belittlement fall,

All creation filled with gratitude.
